Nicolas Kazarian is Director of the Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical, Interfaith Relations Department of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in New York City (USA)
He is a specialist on the Orthodox world, and has published several notes and articles on the relationship between politics and religion in various contexts involving the Orthodox Church. In recent years, he has focused his research on the geopolitical impact of religion in international relations. Between 2011 and 2020, he supervised the Observatory of Religions and Geopolitics at the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (Paris, France)
He holds a PhD in Geography, from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. His dissertation is entitled « Cyprus, geopolitics and minorities », and explores issues related to geopolitical crossroads. He also holds a BA in Religious Studies from the Institut Saint-Serge (Paris) and a Masters from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland).
Nicolas Kazarian is a Professor at the Institut Saint-Sergius Orthodox Institute. He also teaches at the Institut Catholique de Paris and is fluent in English and Greek.
He is also a clergyman of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and lives between Paris and New York (USA).

Nicolas Kazarian directeur du département des relations inter-orthodoxes, œcuméniques et interreligieuses de l’archevêché grec orthodoxe des Etats-Unis.
Spécialiste du monde orthodoxe, il est notamment l’auteur de notes et d’articles sur les relations entre politique et religion dans les différents contextes nationaux de l’église orthodoxe. Ces dernières années, il a investi le champ de la recherche géopolitique en étudiant les enjeux religieux sur le plan des relations internationales. Entre 2011 et 2020, il a dirigé l’Observatoire géopolitique du religieux, auprès de l’Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (Paris, France)
Docteur en Géographie de l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, il travaille sur les questions liées aux carrefours. Son sujet de thèse portait sur : « Chypre, géopolitique et minorités ». Il est aussi titulaire d’une Licence en Sciences des Religions à l’Institut Saint-Serge (Paris), il possède un Master de l’Université de Fribourg (Suisse).
Nicolas Kazarian est professeur à l’Institut Saint-Serge. Il enseigne aussi à l’Institut Catholique de Paris et parle couramment l’anglais et le grec.
Il est aussi clerc du Patriarcat œcuménique et vit entre Paris et New York (États-Unis).
